We are a group of Professionals from the districts of Ramnad and Sivagangai.  Our frequent visits to the native places, interaction with the people made us realise our responsibility to the people and their contexts. We have been shocked at the reality of dwindling agriculture, people migrating outside but returning without gainful employment, students not able to compete for better jobs and unemployed educated youth.

We met several times in the past two years to understand the real issues of the people and had series of meetings.

We came out with the idea of pooling the resources and expertise of professionals and giving an institutional shape to initiate a number of programmes for the students, youth, entrepreneurs and promotion of agriculture and environment.

Then we came out with the name CHEMMAN to become an umbrella of our action. We registered is as Trust.
